I leave for my flight into the city tomorrow! I've been waiting to get out of here for the last six months already. I've got everything arranged. I'll be staying at an apartment in Manhattan for the next several months and I'll finally get to delve into my photography again. I also decided to do something wild and get Lasik in New York. I had been thinking about it for years and I just happened to get a referral for someone who does the procedure there who's supposedly really good, so I figured why not! My goal is to come back from New York with a new set of eyes, so to speak, and a new set of photographs! I was thinking how this decision could be a really good career move too. I definitely can't wear my glasses when I'm taking pictures because I can't get as close to the lens as I would like and when I've tried contacts I've actually missed my shot because sometimes something would happen to the lens right at the second I'd see the shot I wanted to take. I actually think I'll be a better photographer after the procedure. I still have some last-minute packing to do, which shouldn't take more than ten minutes, and then I'll be all set!
