I went to my friend's house today. We made plans to go to the new bookstore that opened up about a block away from her house. Before we left she was showing me how she uses her Accucheck meter. We were laughing over what a potential date's reaction might be if she had to pull it out right in the middle of a romantic moment. We were envisioning all sorts of silly and ridiculous scenarios like pulling it out right in the middle of a candlelight dinner or while he's trying to reach for her hand at the movie theater. This is why I always have a really good time when we get together. It's incredible that she has the sense of humor that she does. Even though she has some health problems and concerns beyond what most people our age have to worry about she's always had nothing but a good attitude about it. She always manages to have a sense of humor when I know other people probably wouldn't stop complaining about their situation. I really admire that about her. Fortunately she doesn't have to worry about those scenarios we joked about. She's able to be pretty discrete and make sure everything is fine. She definitely doesn't have any problems landing a date!
